Doing the same activities at home can get old after a while. However, there are plenty of fun activities to do or make on your own. Enjoy doing any of these activities at home with your family.

Create your Own Board Game:

Many people have plenty of great board games to play, but even if you do, a great way to change it up is by making a board game of your own! Put together items from around your home and make up your own rules. This is a great way to be creative and a great way to play something new.

Sidewalk Chalk:

One of the best things to do right now is to be outside as much as you can. Grab some colorful chalk and make beautiful artwork outdoors. Not only can you create beautiful things with sidewalk chalk, but you can also play games with the sidewalk chalk. For instance, draw a hopscotch board right on your driveway.

Plant a Garden:

Another great way to get outdoors right now is by planting a garden. Plant a garden of beautiful flowers right in your backyard or in your front yard. Not only can you just plant flowers, but you can also plant fruits or vegetables. Enjoy watering and taking care of all the new items in your garden.

Make your Own Mini-Golf Course:

Turn your home into a mini-golf course. Make each room a different theme with different and creative ways to get a hole in one. Be sure to grab a pen and paper to keep track of who is winning, so that the winner can get a prize.

Have a Puzzle Contest:

Find all the puzzles that you have lying around the house and turn it into a contest. For instance, give everyone a different puzzle, set a timer, and then see who can put together their puzzle the fastest. After you’re done, post a photo of the winner and the puzzle and challenge your friends on social media.

Schedule a Family Game Night:

Even if you don’t feel creative enough to make your own board game, make it a point to sit down together as a family and play a game together as a family. While playing the game with each other, make sure that you talk to one another. See how everyone is feeling and doing at this time.

Have a Movie Theater Night:

Another great way to bond with loved ones during this time is to have a movie theater night. For example, pick a movie that will play promptly at whichever time you choose. Turn your home into a home theater and while the movie is playing, turn off all the lights for a movie theater effect. If you want to be even more creative, set up a concession stand area with popcorn, drinks, and treats, but make sure everyone pays for what they would like with monopoly money or any other fake money available.

Kitchen Grocery Store:

Keep the creativity going while also teaching your children some new learning skills. For instance, provide a chore or activity chart and every time they complete a task, they can get a certain amount of fake money. Let them come to the kitchen grocery store to pick out whatever item that they would like to buy. They’ll enjoy doing their tasks and will also learn to spend and count money.

Arts and Crafts:

There is a lot of great craft and art ideas on Pinterest. Choose a fun art project for each day and see what everyone can create!

Indoor Camping:

Instead of traveling somewhere to camp, turn your living room into an indoor camp! Move the furniture out of the way, and set up a tent. Be creative and make smores in a toaster oven, and sleep inside the tent in your sleeping bags for the full effect. Another great idea to add to your indoor camping experience is to put a fireplace or bonfire from youtube right on your TV screen.

At-Home Spa Day:

Give yourself a relaxing spa day straight from home. Take a warm bubble bath, put on a face mask, and give yourself a manicure or pedicure with nail polish in your own home collection. By doing this, it’s a great way to stay relaxed and to keep a self-care routine going.

Bake Desserts Together:

Another fun activity to do is to bake a yummy treat together. Bake any flavor cake, cookies, or even a pie. After you bake together, enjoy eating the treat together. Talk to one another about what your favorite part was while baking the treats. Find new recipes of different sweets that you can bake in the future.

Have a Picnic in your Front Yard:

Pick out your choice of lunch and find a beach towel or beach mat to take out to your front yard. Enjoy eating your lunch with a picnic right in your yard. During your lunch, play a game of “I Spy” or just enjoy being able to eat under the sunshine.

Let everyone in the household know that there will be a costume party. Everyone has to put together their costumes with items already in the home. See who can be the most creative and just have fun!

Have some quiet time and read a book. Reading a book will be able to take you to places that you’ve never been without ever leaving the house. Enjoy reading a good book in bed, on the front porch, in the backyard or on the couch.

Create an indoor scavenger hunt. The best part about doing an indoor scavenger hunt is that you can create it yourself. Type it up on the computer and make your scavenger hunt come to life.

Do a Photoshoot:

Brush your hair, put on a nice outfit, do your makeup and set up different backdrops throughout the house. Take photos in every room and have your own photoshoot. Not only will this be a great, fun activity to do, but you will also have the photos for years to come!

Workout Using an At Home Work Out Video:

Turn on a YouTube workout video. Get your exercise in for the day while being in the comfort of your own home. Stay in shape during this time of not being able to go to the gym.

Put on a Karaoke Night:

There are plenty of karaoke videos available for free on YouTube. Have a Disney Karaoke night or pick a genre to have a karaoke night. Put your singing skills to the test during your fun karaoke night.

Deep Clean the House:

One of the best things to do is deep clean the house. By deep cleaning the house, you will feel accomplished and cleaning the home can be a lot of fun when everyone is involved.

Enjoy a Virtual Activity:

Make a Virtual Book Club:

While reading can be enjoyable, another fun way to read a book and stay interactive with others is by making or joining a virtual book club. One night have a talent show one night. The kids will love being able to have the spotlight on them. Let them show off whatever talent they’d like! This will be a fun activity for everyone to watch or to participate in.

Wash the Cars:

Another great way to be outside while also getting something done is by giving the cars a good wash! This is a great way to get outside for a little bit and get your cars clean as can be. Not only will you be happy to have a clean car, but the kids will love being able to help, and get in some fun water time as well.
