GET TO KNOW Eric Krockmeyer

Q: Have you always live in the Central Florida area? Where do you consider to be ‘home’?

A: I grew up in a small town of 9000 people in Idaho. I moved to Orlando when I was 21 to go to school, and though I’ve moved to a couple of other states temporarily for work, Central Florida is home! My wife actually grew up in Oviedo and went to elementary, middle & high school, and college (Go Knights!) all within 1 mile of her house. So because of her, I’ve learned where all the old orange groves used to be and how to beat the Sunday crowd to The Townhouse!

Q: What are some things that you have learned and that surprised you about real estate after becoming an agent?

A: I think going into it I was thinking “Man, I get to meet new people and look at pretty homes 24/7” and that was all my day was going to be; but it’s so much more and in a good way! Dissecting contracts and becoming fluent with the language, learning to look past the fresh coat of paint and pay attention to what’s inside of the walls, studying the housing market daily to be aware of price changes to get top value for my sellers while protecting my buyers, marketing a family’s home that reflects how proud they were to live there but that also attracts another family to want to purchase it; it was surprising how much more really happens behind the scenes that I didn’t think of before becoming an agent, but I’m always learning something new every day so I can better serve the people I get to work with.

Q: How has your personal life blended into your life as an Agent in a positive way?

A: My family is everything to me, so to try to keep them out of anything I do is impossible. I think of them first when it comes to making decisions in my personal life, and I do the same as an agent. I’m always asking myself ‘Would they be proud of how I represented us as a unit today?’, ‘Would I sell this home to my wife, sister, mom, dad, etc.?’, ‘Did you do everything in your power to add value and make a difference?’. On a lighter note, my wife and I love to look at houses together, so sometimes our ‘date night’ might be going to look at some of our favorites available that week!

Q: Where does your inspiration come from when it comes to selling real estate?

A: People, people, people. A home isn’t a home without people, it’s just a house. It’s the people inside the house that make it a home! That might sound cheesy, but am I wrong? I truly love people and value/cherish all of our differences and individuality, our different backgrounds, our different thought-processes, etc. So just getting to know people for who they really are, and learning what’s important to them, and partnering with them to turn their vision of what a home should be into reality is the most inspirational part of selling real estate for me!

Q: What are your hobbies outside of real estate?

A: I have a lot! I love music, every genre (yes, literally every one), and play 10 instruments and sing and love going to concerts! I’m a big Miami Dolphins & UCF fan, so going to a game or watching football! I’m always working on some type of project at our house and I love it, so don’t hesitate to ask what I’m building that month! Also, my wife and I may or may not have a small Disney obsession and go to the parks once or twice a week, schedule permitting!

Q: What, if anything, would you want your future clients to know about you?

A: I’m an incredibly positive person and have uplifting energy, but sometimes that holds people back from telling me things that aren’t so positive. I value honesty above all else and you will not hurt my feelings if you tell me you don’t like or feel frustrated with something. I want you to tell me right away so we can correct the course! I sell real estate, but I’m not a salesman. I want you to know in your heart that this is the best home for you and your family, so don’t be afraid to speak up if I missed the mark or if there’s something I can do to better.
