Q: Have you always lived in Central Florida? Where do you consider ‘home?’
A: My husband and I have been in Florida for a little over 7 years now. I was born and raised in Wichita, KS and will always be a Kansas girl at heart. Both of my children were born here in Orlando, and Florida will forever now feel like home to our family. When looking for houses though, a Kansas girl always knows best, “There’s no place like home.”
Q: What is your favorite part about being an agent?
A: My favorite part about working in real estate is getting to meet and help so many new families day-in and day-out. Everyone has a different story, and it is always a thrill to get to be a small piece in the next exciting chapter of their lives. The housing market is ever-evolving, and each day brings something new. No day in this job is ever the same, and I love being able to constantly learn and grow within this industry.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of doing real estate?
A: My family has always been very into all things sports. Being from Kansas and having attended the University of Kansas (ROCK CHALK) we are a BIG basketball family over here. If our TV is not on a show for my toddler or little one, you will most likely find ESPN on or whatever sports game is on at that time. My husband, also being the Head Athletic Trainer at Windermere Preparatory School, leads most of our conversations NOT kids-related to being surrounded around real estate or sports. So I am an expert on both topics, if anyone is asking! I also have always had a passion for interior design, and spend most of my free time researching new trends and what design styles will be coming into the housing market next season. Specializing in Luxury Real Estate, I always want to make sure my clients’ investments will continue to be timeless over the years, as there are many factors to consider when purchasing real estate and it is my job to be the expert today, tomorrow and 10 years from now for them. But, in all honesty, any down time I have that is not filled with house hunting or in the midst of negotiations for my clients is spent enjoying time with my family. I am a Mom of two under the age of three, so my days are always unpredictable, chaotic, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Q: How has your personal life blended into your life as an agent in a positive way?
A: My husband works in athletics and always has, so we are used to the crazy life of an unpredictable work schedule. Real Estate is a roller coaster, and my family is the most supportive and always open to be along for the ride.
Q: What, if anything, would you want your future clients to know about you?
A: My clients become like family, as I make sure from the start they are treated as just that. I make a commitment to them, just as I do my own family, to make sure they are well taken care of during the nerve wracking, stressful, but exciting chapter of selling and buying a home. My hustle and work ethic is unmatched in this industry, and my clients see that from day one of working with me. There are hundreds and thousands of realtors in our industry, and I am always so honored for my clients to allow me the opportunity to serve them, and I never take those opportunities for granted.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from when it comes to selling real estate?
A: I am very naturally competitive, and as much as real estate is a business, in today’s market it also turns into a race to find the house first, write the strongest offer or get the highest asking price, and if you ask any of my clients, I refuse to ever lose. I also have always loved interior design and am a homeowner several times over myself, so being able to pair my sales and marketing experience with my passion has made doing what I love that much more enjoyable.
Q: What are some things that you have learned and what surprised you about real estate after becoming an agent or entering the industry?
A: I have been in various sales industries my entire life, coming from a background of Medical and Dental Sales before finding my footing in the real estate world. Having a strong background in sales and marketing, I have been able to transpire my success across industries seamlessly, yet found a sense of fulfillment and joy in my career now that I never had in my previous roles. There is always a thrill of something new every day, sometimes every hour in this job, and it tests you in needing to constantly be prepared to take on whatever challenges are thrown at you.
Q: What are your favorite things about living in Central Florida?
A: Not being a Florida native, I am constantly amazed by there continuously being something new to do, explore, or go see every day. There are endless opportunities here for my family and myself, and I am so grateful to have ended up in the Sunshine State! Not to mention the beach is a short drive away, and the happiest and most magical place on earth! It is the perfect place to raise a family.
