Fort Melon Park is the perfect place to throw your child’s birthday party. Not only because of the exciting playground equipment to play on, but guests can also use the shaded pavilions for rent. Fort Melon Park isn’t just for children, but people of all ages can enjoy visiting this park. Take your kids to the splash pad available at this park. This park located in Downtown Sanford is a lovely place to walk around and just enjoy the fresh air.

Downtown Sanford not only has great outdoor activities but is also well known for all of the cute and vintage style shopping stores. Take a walk down First Street in this historic district. After a beautiful morning of book shopping or antiquing, go over and enjoy lunch at any of the restaurants in the Downtown Historic District. Choose from a variety of different places like Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café or get a delicious barbeque lunch at Fuel BBQ. Grab lunch or dinner at The Original Christos or at the Colonial Room Restaurant. Another amazing restaurant in Downtown Sanford that you will want to visit is the Breezeway Restaurant and Bar. Events in Sanford:

The Historic District is also well known for the events and activities that happen throughout the year. In Downtown Sanford is the farmers market every Saturday morning. Vendors can come out to this farmers market and set up booths with homemade items or crafts at affordable prices. Every month, Downtown Sanford has the Alive After Five event. Guests that visit this event can look forward to attending on the second Thursday of each month. Alive After Five has great food options, local artists, and amazing entertainment. Make sure to visit Downtown Sanford around Christmas time to experience the annual Christmas parade. Schools, stores, and local businesses usually appear in the parade to spread the holiday spirit.
