The city of Maitland has a ton of different places for you to go out and explore. You will see so many new landmarks every time you step outside your front door.
There will be plenty of fun entertainment to enjoy with friends and family, great places to eat at, you can find fun places to shop for your beautiful home, you will also be able to appreciate informational and historic museum buildings in town, and explore or sight see at all the great parks in the area. The city of Maitland has a lot of great options to go out and experience a variety of museums. Get some friends together and head over to the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts. This museum was named after the famous African American writer and anthropologist. This exhibit will leave you feeling educated and knowledgeable in so much that you might have not known before. After you leave this museum and you are just wanting so much more after your experience at the other museum, make your way over to the Wells’ Built Museum of African American History. During your adventure through this museum you will learn more about the African American culture through their pictures and artifacts throughout the exhibit. This unique building was once a hotel in the year of nineteen twenty six. They once used it for people back then to stay in while they were in the Orlando area.
If you enjoy the Maitland museums, then you will also enjoy experiencing the Maitland Art Center. This gorgeously styled building has plenty of exhibits to explore. You will be able to look at the historic artwork up close and personally. Don’t just go and observe the beautiful art, but you can also attend any of the events that this museum might have to offer. For example, check out the Women of Research Studio: Past and Present where you will learn about the featured artists from the past and the present inside of this art center. The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey is a zoo that mainly focuses on a variety of different and unique birds. All ages will enjoy this particular zoo. Lake Lily Park is a gorgeous outdoor park that Maitland has to offer to the community. The kids will enjoy running around in the huge playground area. Relax at one of the shady picnic tables. Then take a quick walk on the boardwalk that this park offers. Not only can you take strolls, but get your blood pumping and use one of the few jogging trails to get your daily exercise in. Use this public park to host a birthday party or attend a quaint wedding at the lovely wedding gazebo in this park. Appreciate the exquisite lake that this park has.
Another park in the Maitland area that you and your family can enjoy on a Saturday morning is the Maitland Community Park. This community park has a lot of outdoor activities for anyone to enjoy. Play a tennis match at any of the four tennis courts. Go jogging at any of the jogging trails that this park has to offer. You will love playing a quick game of volleyball with the sand volleyball court. Plus the kids will be begging to play at either of the playground areas. Practice your basketball at either of the basketball courts on this property. Not only will you have great outdoor options at this park, but you will even be able to do some indoor activities in the multipurpose room or brush up on your racquetball skills at the indoor racquetball courts.
Take a quick break from all the great parks in the Maitland area and experience being in nature at the Jim Houser Azalea Garden. At this lovely garden you will be able to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature. Grab a book and sit at one of the many benches within the garden to have some peaceful quiet time. Fort Maitland Park is the perfect park to go for the easiest access for a boat ramp and great picnic spots to have a fun filled day out on the water and a delicious picnic in the park. Enjoy a day playing ball at the Maitland Ballfield Complex. This complex actually has three different ballfields to choose from. Of course this complex also offers a concession area for food and drinks during any of the ball games that happen here. You will also have access to an indoor restroom area and the kids won’t be bored with the playground section that this complex also has to offer. If you happen to be looking for a park that also offers a place to fish, then Sybelia Point Park will be your number one pick. This park has a fishing pier, a kid friendly playground area, and a section to have a barbeque with the picnic area that also provides grills for your convenience.

Not only is this complex open to the facility, but you can also host events and birthday parties at this complex. Take your child to the Learn to Skate classes, so that they will be able to have fun with friends and learn how to ice skate. There are also plenty of division tournaments for any age to enjoy. If your game is about to start and you forgot your equipment, don’t fret because lucky for you this particular complex has an ice den pro shop. You will be able to pick up any item that you might need instead of having to run out to the store before your big game. Fans that like to come out and enjoy cheering on their friends will love being able to have access to the Bear Bites Concessions. Pick up any of your favorite snacks or soda drinks to sip on while watching a game or while your little one is learning lots of new tricks out on the ice during their skating lessons.
